Copywriting Tips - Scrambled Eggs May Just Do The Trick

Cute title, huh? Well, I'm not trying to be cute. If anything, I'm being dead serious. Sometimes you have to really mix things up with your sales copy to really get your prospects to respond. Why? Well, this article is going to explain in vivid morning breakfast detail. After you are done with this article, you will understand perfectly well why sometimes a serving of lightly scrambled is just what the doctor ordered.

Okay, now that I have totally confused you, what the heck am I talking about? Let me ask you a question. Did you ever start writing sales copy for a client or yourself, for that great new product that you just came out with, and you noticed that the words ending up in print seem very familiar, like you've used them all before? And then you look at your copy and you realize that it's the same stale copy that you wrote last week. You get this really sick feeling in the pit of your stomach because it seems like you've lost all your creative juice. Admit it...it's happened to you. It happens to all of us.

So what does this have to do with scrambled eggs? Well, you see, as copywriters, we get into our little ruts. We use the same templates, the same style, the same order of things, and so on. One sales page that we do tends to look like another. The only way we can even tell the difference is by clicking on the "buy now" link and looking at the order page to see what product it is. Yes, it all becomes quite interchangeable...and quite dull.

And THAT is where the scrambled eggs comes in. Instead of having the testimonial midway down the copy after the first sell of bullet points and the obligatory gif image of the product, why not put the testimonial right after the headline? This actually is a very effective method to writing a sales letter. Or maybe follow the headline with some bullet points asking the prospect if he'd like to have the following things in his life, and then list them.

And what about that template? You know, there are a lot of great templates out there. Just by changing the one you're using, that alone can give you some inspiration...being able to look at something different. You'd be surprised at the things that can inspire you if you just mix things up a little.

So yes, scrambled eggs, even lightly scrambled, may just do the trick for the copywriting rut that you happen to be in.
